4365 - Registered Nurse, General Med Surg (Self-Schedule)
The staff Medical Surgical Nurse (RN) is a professional nurse and is a leader of an interdisciplinary team assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and documenting care, and delivers the highest levels of care to the patient and family. Care is driven by the focus of compassion and servant leadership, thru an atmosphere that is continuously evolving. Our Medical Surgical Unit is a 29-bed unit. This unit provides care primarily for the younger adult, adult and geriatric population for all medical surgical diagnosis. This unit is an excellent environment for newer nurses to hone their experience, and the experienced nurse to shine as a leader.
Must Have's:
- Graduate of a State Board School of Nursing or equivalent.
- Preferred six (6) months of experience.
- Current RN license or permit to practice professional nursing in the State of Louisiana.
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within two (2) weeks of employment.
- Current NIHSS certification at the time of hire or within 90 days of hire for experienced RNs, or completion within 12 months of hire for new graduate nurses, and maintain certification thereafter.
- Current Arrhythmia Recognition certification at the time of hire or within 8 weeks of hire for experienced RNs, or completion within 6 months for new graduate nurses, and maintain certification thereafter.
