Our client is seeking an Education Resource Specialist - RN, Abdominal (Kidney) Transplant to join their team at a Houston-based transplant center. This is a newly opened position offering an exciting opportunity for an experienced transplant nurse to develop and deliver educational programs that enhance clinical practice, improve patient outcomes, and foster professional growth among healthcare staff.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver educational modules and continuing education programs across the abdominal transplant unit, including outpatient, transplant ICU, and acute care settings.
  • Support clinical staff and transplant coordinators with advanced training, orientation programs, and ongoing educational resources.
  • Collaborate with the unit team to ensure adherence to OPTN and CSM guidelines and incorporate best practices into educational content.
  • Provide support to the surgical intensive care unit (SICU) and work closely with outpatient transplant programs.
  • Coordinate and participate in a comprehensive 3-day classroom training program.
  • Act as an expert resource for staff education and clinical development within the transplant program.

Must Haves:

  • Active RN Texas License or multi-state compact RN license in good standing, free of stipulations.
  • Master’s Degree (education focus preferred).
  • 5 years of acute care nursing experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Kidney Transplant Coordinator (required).
  • At least 1 year of supervisory experience.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Nice to Haves:

  • Certification as a Transplant Coordinator is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Epic, OPTN, and CSM guidelines.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to lead educational initiatives.
  • Proven ability to remain flexible, organized, and collaborative.


Location: Houston, TX 77030

Salary: $89,000 -  $130,000
