Data Scientist TS/SCI
We are seeking a Data Scientist to support a national security customer in Springfield, VA. This individual will play a key role on the Data & AI consulting team, contributing to data visualization, business analytics, data management, and digital engineering initiatives. The ideal candidate will bring a proactive mindset and strong technical capabilities to develop intuitive dashboards, tools, and datasets that enhance operational oversight and mission impact.
Responsibilities:
• Develop, maintain, and enhance analytic visualizations and tools to evaluate and communicate office status and operations
• Integrate data from multiple sources (e.g., Jira, Excel, SQL) to produce actionable visualizations and connect disparate datasets
• Use data storytelling to communicate complex program performance metrics to senior leadership for investment, prioritization, and strategy decisions
• Design, develop, and maintain Tableau dashboards tailored to specific stakeholder groups—visually engaging, intuitive, and data-rich
• Manage the dashboard and analytics product inventory, including backlog tracking and prioritization
• Present and demo visualizations to senior leadership and stakeholders, gathering feedback for improvements
• Document data processes, create SOPs, maintain data dictionaries, and contribute to Confluence or internal knowledge sharing pages
• Explore automation opportunities and integration with unstructured data and Enterprise-level tools, including LLM-compatible formats
Must Have's:
• Active and current Top Secret/SCI security clearance (must be able to upgrade and maintain a CI polygraph)
• Bachelor's degree
• At least 8 years of professional experience
• Proven experience in data analysis and visualization
• Proficiency with coding languages, software tools, or scripting for data work
Nice to Have's:
• Hands-on experience creating dashboards in Tableau
• Ability to proactively identify opportunities for analytics enhancement
• Experience with COTS statistical tools (SPSS, SAS, MatLab, etc.)
• Proficiency in data mining, database development, or data maintenance
• Working knowledge of Python, MySQL, D3, SPSS, SAS, Visual Basic, or R for summarizing and presenting statistical data
• Strong communication skills to engage stakeholders on the value of data science solutions
• Familiarity with AI/ML tools or platforms
• Willingness to contribute to a collaborative, knowledge-sharing environment

Salary:
$120,000–$165,000
