Our client is seeking a dedicated and experienced Nurse Manager to lead strategies and activities that ensure uncompromising quality, exceptional patient safety, and an outstanding patient and family experience. The Nurse Manager will create an empowering environment for staff development, foster collegial relationships, and promote best practices in nursing care. This role involves resource allocation to ensure efficient, compassionate, and fiscally responsible care while coordinating interdisciplinary collaboration and communication across departments. Responsibilities include overseeing the Emergency Department, Clinical Leaders, and Medic 55 ALS Program, as well as recruitment, orientation, education, and development of personnel.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and implement strategies to maintain high-quality care and patient safety.

  • Foster an environment that supports staff development and empowerment.

  • Promote best practices in nursing and interdisciplinary collaboration.

  • Allocate resources effectively to ensure efficient, compassionate, and fiscally responsible care.

  • Supervise and provide oversight for the Emergency Department, Clinical Leaders, and Medic 55 ALS Program.

  • Participate in recruiting, selecting, and retaining personnel.

  • Ensure appropriate orientation, credentialing, and ongoing professional development for staff.

  • Oversee departmental needs, plan interventions, and evaluate their effectiveness.

  • Facilitate project management, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.

  • Maintain compliance with The Joint Commission requirements.


Must Haves:

  • Minimum: Graduate from an accredited Registered Professional Nurse Program.

  • Master’s degree in Nursing or a related field. License

  • Minimum: Current NYS license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse.
    Professional Certifications

  • Minimum: BLS, ACLS, PALS (required during clinical orientation through RQI system).

  • Basic Coronary Care within six months of hire.

  • CPI certification within 90 days of hire.

  • TNCC certification within 18 months of hire.

  • Preferred: Certified Emergency Nurse within one year.

  • Minimum: 3-4 years of RN experience in an Emergency Department.

  • At least one year of experience as a Nurse Manager.

  • Moderate sedation competency (within six months of hire).

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Knowledge of management systems and processes.

  • Ability to establish effective work relationships and lead teams.

  • Analytical skills to assess needs and implement effective interventions.

  • Proficiency in project management and meeting organizational objectives.

  • Familiarity with The Joint Commission requirements.

  • Computer literacy with word processing and spreadsheets.
  • Preferred: Experience with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Meditech.


Nice to Haves:

  • Certified Emergency Nurse within one year of hire.

  • Experience with advanced software tools such as Microsoft Office Suite and Meditech.


Location:
Our client’s facilities are located in Geneva and Pen Yan NY, with travel required between two sites approximately 25 minutes apart.

Salary: $115,000 - $130,000 (commensurate with experience).
