Our client is seeking a Pediatric Cardiac Sonographer to join their team in Houston, TX. This role involves working with pediatric critical care physicians and hospitalists to provide high-quality imaging services. The position offers opportunities for ongoing cardiac training and mentorship in a state-of-the-art facility specializing in pediatric cardiology and heart surgery.
Responsibilities:
- Perform echocardiograms on pediatric congenital patients, ensuring accuracy and adherence to protocols
- Verify patient identity, obtain medical history, and assess patient cooperation for the procedure
- Utilize various echocardiogram modalities and prepare preliminary reports for physician review
- Assist with pre/post-procedure support and provide guidance to Sonographers and Cardiology Fellows
- Maintain and calibrate imaging equipment, report malfunctions, and participate in quality assurance activities
- Support onboarding and training for new Sonographers and participate in departmental meetings
- Work collaboratively with healthcare professionals, including doctors, nurses, and cardiologists
- Participate in an on-call schedule and performance improvement initiatives
Must Haves:
- Graduate of an accredited sonography program
- Must hold one of the following certifications: RCS, RCCS, RDCS, or RDCS PE
- Experience in pediatric scans required (new graduates without pediatric experience will not be considered)
Nice to Haves:
- BLS certification from AHA preferred
Location: Houston, TX
Salary: $90,084 - $135,200
